Marshmallow Dash!

Jump a squishy marshmallow over spikes and blocks in this one-button rhythm runner on Scratch, with several levels and a high score table.

How to play

The instructions on the project page are simple:

  • Space – jump
  • Mouse click – jump

Choose a level from the menu and let the marshmallow run. Jump over spikes, hop onto blocks and keep going until you reach the end of the level. If you hit a spike, the level resets and you try again. Holding your nerve on long sequences of jumps is the main challenge.

About Marshmallow Dash!

Marshmallow Dash! is a cube-jumping rhythm game made on Scratch by @GoodCoolMan. Your character runs forward automatically across a glowing floor while spikes and blocks come your way, and your only job is to jump at the right moment. The twist is the theme: the hero is a squishy marshmallow plush, which gives this classic formula a playful look.

The game is a remix of an earlier Scratch platformer engine, and it keeps the polished parts of that engine: particles, a scrolling background, several levels with their own music, a high score table and even a level editor. Play it free in your browser right here.

What is Marshmallow Dash!?

Marshmallow Dash! is an auto-runner: the level scrolls on its own and the player keeps moving to the right. You do not steer left or right; you only decide when to jump. Spikes destroy you on contact, while blocks can be landed on and used as stepping stones. Clearing a level means reading the layout and timing each jump to the music.

Inside the project you will find a menu with a splash screen, three music tracks named level1, level2 and level3, stars and coins to collect, an end screen when you complete a level, and a cloud-based high score table that ranks players. The project notes also point to a Scratch studio that gathers all of the levels made for it.

What sets Marshmallow Dash! apart from other cube runners on this site is its presentation. The engine draws a glowing floor, star particles and a parallax background, adds a short shake when you crash, and fades smoothly between the menu, the level and the end screen. A quality setting is also part of the project, which helps the game stay smooth on slower computers.

How to Play Marshmallow Dash!

Because clicking works as well as the keyboard, you can play with a mouse, a trackpad or the space bar. Click inside the player first so it receives your input.

  • Several levels, each with its own music track.
  • Stars, coins and points to collect during a run.
  • Online high score table using Scratch cloud data.
  • Level editor included in the project, with a studio collecting community levels.
  • Visual effects: jump particles, a glowing floor, a starry background, fades and screen shake.
  • Marshmallow theme with a plush character on a classic cube-runner engine.

Tips and Tricks to Win

  • Jump on the beat. Levels are built around their music, so listening helps you time jumps.
  • Don’t jump too early. Most failed runs come from pressing too soon before a spike, not too late.
  • Use blocks as platforms. Landing on top of a block is safe; only spikes are deadly.
  • Memorise tricky parts. Each attempt teaches you the layout; repeat a section until it feels automatic.
  • Pick one input. Switching between click and space mid-run can throw off your timing.
  • Chase the leaderboard. Once you clear a level, replay it to improve your score on the high score table.
