Slope 2

Roll for survival! Control the ball down a steep, futuristic 3D course in Slope 2. Avoid falling off the edge and see how far you can go.

How to play

The ball accelerates on its own. You never brake; you only choose where to go.

About Slope 2

Slope 2 is the odd one out on this site: instead of a cube jumping to a beat, you steer a ball down an endless neon slope, dodging obstacle blocks and trying not to roll off the edge. It shares the dash games’ one-more-try loop, but the skill is steering rather than timing.

How Slope 2 Differs From Dash Games

In a dash game, the level is fixed and you learn it. In Slope 2, the track is generated as you go, so no two runs are the same. That shifts the skill from memory to reading: you have to recognise ramps, tunnels and block patterns on sight. Speed also builds through a run, so the same pattern that was easy early on becomes tricky later.

If you enjoy that reactive style, the endless wave runs in Wave 2 test the same skill with a different movement.

Steering Technique

Tap, don’t hold

Long presses swing the ball wide, and at high speed one wide swing is enough to fall off. Short taps keep it near the centre line.

Stay central

The middle of the track gives you the most options when a block appears. Drifting to an edge means you can only dodge one way.

Use ramps carefully

When the ball is airborne, steering still works but feels floatier. Line up before the ramp rather than correcting in the air.

Strategy by Phase of a Run

Early: the slope is slow. Use this time to settle your hands and find a rhythm.

Middle: obstacles become more frequent. Look further down the track and plan two moves ahead.

Late: speed is high and reaction time is everything. Make the smallest corrections possible. Our guide on improving reaction time has drills that help here.

Playing on Low-End Devices

Slope 2 is a 3D game, so it is heavier than the other games here. On a slow Chromebook, close other tabs and avoid fullscreen if the frame rate drops. A smooth frame rate makes the difference between a reaction and a crash. The checklist in our settings guide applies here too.

Who Will Enjoy Slope 2

Slope 2 is a good pick if you like dash games for their tension but find rhythm timing tiring. There is no music to follow and no level to memorise: just speed, steering and a high score to beat. It is also a nice change of pace between harder wave sessions, since it uses different muscles and a different kind of focus. Younger players often pick it up faster than dash games, because left and right are more intuitive than timing a jump to a beat. Players who like structured progress may miss levels, though. If that is you, mix Slope 2 with a level-based game like Geometry World.
