Space Waves
Blast off into rhythm! Pilot your wave through cosmic obstacles and gravity shifts in Space Waves, the ultimate sci-fi arcade challenge.
About Space Waves
Picture the wave section of a dash level, stretched into a whole game and set against a starfield. Space Waves is exactly that: a sequence of levels where your only vehicle is a zig-zagging arrow and every corridor is cut to its diagonal path.

Level Walkthrough Approach
Space Waves is organised into separate levels that get harder as you go. Rather than describe each one, here is a method that works on all of them:
- First attempt: just watch. Note where the corridor narrows and where the slopes change.
- Next few attempts: survive the opening. The start of a level sets your rhythm. Get it clean before worrying about the rest.
- Find the hinge. Most levels have one section that causes most of your deaths. Identify it and focus your attention there.
- Full runs. Once the hinge is consistent, play complete runs and let the easier parts come naturally.
For level-by-level notes and progression tips, see our dedicated Space Waves guide.
Hold, Release, Repeat
Hold the left mouse button or Space to climb; release to dive. On mobile, press and lift your finger. The angle is fixed, so you never fight momentum, but you also cannot float. In a tunnel that runs straight, the only option is to alternate quickly between up and down.
The fixed angle also means the corridors are designed around it. If a gap looks impossible, you are probably entering it from the wrong height. Line up earlier.
Mistakes That End Runs
- Turning at the wall. Turn just before; the wave needs a moment to move away.
- Long holds in narrow spaces. One long hold is the quickest way into the ceiling.
- Letting the background distract you. The space visuals are pretty. Keep your eyes on the path ahead.
Our analysis of why players crash in wave levels covers each of these with examples.
Space Waves vs Other Wave Games Here

Settings That Help
Wave games are unforgiving with input lag, because a delay of a few frames changes your path. Use a wired mouse or the keyboard, close background tabs and keep your browser up to date. Full details are in our guide to reducing input lag.
Why Players Like It
Space Waves has built a following because it isolates one skill and lets you see yourself improve at it. The levels are clean, the theme is calm, and progress from one level to the next is easy to measure. Many players use it as a warm-up before harder games, and others use it to learn the wave from scratch. If you came to the site through the classic dash game and found its wave sections the hardest part, this is the place to fix that weakness. A few sessions here will make every wave portal elsewhere feel less threatening. The video below shows how far dedicated players push the later, harder levels.
